Inkster Woman Heads To Trial For Fatal Fire

POSTED: Wednesday, December 3, 2008
UPDATED: 4:59 pm EST December 3, 2008

A 63-year-old Detroit-area woman is headed to trial in the death of a woman who was dating her former boyfriend.

A district judge on Wednesday ordered Zilpah Ann Warmack bound over for trial on charges of felony murder, assault with intent to murder and arson.

Warmack will appear in Wayne County Circuit Court on Dec. 17.

Prosecutors said 52-year-old Denise Robinson was killed Nov. 17 in a fire that was intentionally set at the Inkster home of her 71-year-old boyfriend, Larry Lee.

Lee said Warmack is his ex-girlfriend.

Robinson had a personal protection order against Warmack and authorities believe the fire may have been over jealousy of a past relationship, Local 4 learned.

Police say Warmack confessed to setting the fire. Warmack's defense attorney, Otis Culpepper, says Warmack's written confession is rambling and barely makes sense.
