MONROE, Mich. -- A narcotics officer with the Michigan State Police is on paid administrative leave after police searched his Monroe home on Thursday.
Lt. Luke Davis, who is head of the Office of Monroe Narcotics Investigations, confirmed he is on leave after investigators from his own department searched his home.
"I would have let them in if they asked," he told the Monroe News. "I have nothing to hide."
Davis said he did nothing wrong and it is a misunderstanding and it will get straightened out.
He said the investigating involving him is based on information that someone gave officers out of retaliation of a raid.
The state police issued this statement.
"Any allegation of potential misconduct is aggressively investigated following clearly established policies and procedures," the statement read. "When an allegation is made against a department member, regardless of whether a formal complaint was filed, the department begins the process of gathering factual information regarding the allegation."
"I am not involved in any way with possessing, using or trafficking illegal drugs," Davis said. "There are no illegal drugs at my residence. I do not do drugs."
The results of the investigation will be sent to the Attorney General's office, which will determine if any criminal charges will be warranted.
