MONROE, Mich. -- A former Monroe High School teacher was in court Monday after being arraigned in November on a charge of indecent exposure and having sex with a student.
Kelly Ann Abdo, of Luna Pier, pleaded innocent to the count.
Monroe County Prosecutor William Nichols' office said Abdo is accused of having sex with the student in a car on a public street, next to a house where there was a high school party. Other students told the prosecutor's office that they saw the two naked in the car.
The prosecutor's office also said Abdo is being investigated, but has not been charged, in another case involving inappropriate sexual relations with a 17-year-old student.
The Monroe News reported Abdo was a math teacher and volleyball coach at the high school.
She has since been on paid administration leave since the accusations began in May after an internal investigation by the district.
Abdo's next court date is set for Feb. 19.
