A local high school dismissed classes early on Friday after a man allegedly followed students into the school and exposed himself to them. Police believe the man may also be a suspect in a rape case.
Detroit police will file indecent exposure charges against a 27-year-old man who slipped into Redford High School in Detroit on Friday, Local 4 reported.
The suspect allegedly snuck in behind a group of students and made it to the second floor where he exposed himself to a group of students, according to police.
A mother of one of the students said her daughter "was snatched by the arm by the individual and she said, 'Let me go,' and he wouldn't let her go.'"
The man grabbed other students and was also heard by other individuals threatening to "blow the place up," a student told Local 4.
Once outside, the suspect exposed himself again to students before police arrived and brought him into custody, the station reported.
Detroit police say they are investigating security issues at the school and will speak with the school's principal to determine if any steps need to be taken to protect students.
"He should not have been able to walk through that front door," said one student's mother.
Police say the suspect also matches the composite sketch of the man who raped a student behind a home near the school on Monday.
