Police Investigate Fatal Troy Accident

19-Year-Old Man Dies From Injuries

POSTED: 9:29 a.m. EST December 19, 2002
UPDATED: 9:40 a.m. EST December 19, 2002

An accident that killed a 19-year-old Troy man early Thursday morning is under investigation.

Troy police said that at 1:38 a.m., a 2000 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck driven by Robert Mouch was traveling east on East Big Beaver Road, just east of Livernois. The pickup truck entered the median turn-around lanes for westbound East Big Beaver Road, and the driver made no attempt to turn, police said.

The pickup truck struck the median curb, became airborne and landed upside down.

Mouch was transported to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital where he died as a result of his injuries, police said.

The median lanes of Big Beaver Road were closed for a short time following the accident.

Police said that alcohol does not appear to be a factor and Mouch was wearing a seat belt.
