Attorney Geoffrey Fieger held a press conference at 3 p.m. Friday to announce the filing of a $100 million civil rights lawsuit against the City of Detroit for the amputation of his client, Joni Gullas' finger.

Officer Anthony Johnson used a knife during a struggle with Gullas, 45, last Sunday in a parking lot near the Huddle Lounge at Eight Mile Road and Gratiot Avenue, according to police.

Gullas reportedly lost her finger when Johnson used a knife to cut off her coat so he could handcuff her, according to police.

Johnson has been put on desk duty during the investigation.
