PONTIAC, Mich. -- A 72-year-old grandmother pleaded guilty Monday to possessing a large amount of drugs, but police believe that she might be covering up for someone else, Local 4 reported Monday.
Pontiac police said that they found marijuana, cocaine and a scale in the home of Gladys Alexander in November. Investigators believe that Alexander may be covering for one of her children or grandchildren.
The grandchildren told Local 4 that she is not a drug dealer.
"She is a very nice lady," granddaughter Tanisha Alexander said. "She helps out a lot of people."
Alexander could face up to 20 years in prison, Local 4 reported. She is scheduled to be sentenced in February.
