DETROIT -- The famous hat that Aretha Franklin wore to Barack Obama's presidential inauguration is now an ornament, and it just hit store shelves.
The iconic hat was designed in Detroit and will be made into an ornament by a Detroit-area man. Luke Song of Moza Inc. designed the hat for Franklin.
Bloomfield designer of the ornament, Curtis Posuniak, said the workers at the Polish factory where the ornaments are being made loved them, but they said the side bow originally confused them and they tried to fix it.
The confusion was cleared up after the workers saw a picture of the Swarovski jewel-studded, heather gray wool hat with a gigantic bow tie tipped to the wearer's right side.

The Smithsonian Institution has asked Franklin if she would donate the hat to the museum to become apart of an exhibit dedicated to Obama's inauguration.
It's available at Bronner's in Frankenmouth and the Ritz-Carlton in Dearborn.
