A 42-year-old Westland man was arrested by sheriff's deputies Thursday for trying to solicit a teenage girl online, according to reports from the Wayne County Sheriff.

The man thought he was chatting online with four different teenagers, but they were actually four different sheriff's deputies, according to Wayne County Internet Crimes Unit investigators.

While chatting with one officer, the suspect would reportedly excuse himself for a few minutes while he switched to another chat room.

Deputies arrested the man outside Laurel Park Place Mall in Livonia around 3:30 p.m. Thursday where he thought he was meeting one of the girls. The suspect was planning to pick up the girl in his pickup and "show her how to have sex" while he played music from heavy metal rock group AC/DC on the pickup's stereo, according to officers who made the arrest.

"We may recommend to the prosecutor that this individual be brought up on multiple charges," Warren Evans of the Wayne County sheriff's office said. "It's incredible that a 42-year-old would be soliciting sex from not one, but four young girls, all of whom actually turned out to be sheriff's deputies."

The Sheriff's Department said this is the third suspected pedophile they have arrested in two weeks. The Livonia Police Department reportedly assisted in the arrest.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned Friday or Saturday.
