1,500 Toasters Recalled

Toasters Could Pose Fire Risk

POSTED: Saturday, June 13, 2009
UPDATED: 10:19 am EDT June 15, 2009

W.P. Appliances is recalling toaster ovens over a possible fire risk.

The voluntary recall involves about 1,500 Wolfgang Puck toaster ovens and toasters manufactured in China. They were sold in Frongate catalogs from November 2008 through March 2009.

The company says the toasters can remain "on" after the toast pops up, creating a fire hazard. There have been no reports of injuries. The company says consumers should stop using the product and contact them for a free replacement.
