STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich -- Drivers in one Sterling Heights neighborhood woke up to find their cars up on blocks Friday morning.
Sterling Heights police said officers are investigating at least five different reports of tire thefts in just one subdivision.
The thieves were apparently quick and efficient, taking the tires off cars very quickly.
"They got three guys; one that does the lug nuts, the other two come back with jacks, jack it up and boom -- they're gone in 25 seconds," said Michael Wilson, whose tires were stolen overnight.
Linda Wilson walked outside her home Friday morning and found her own landscaping bricks were used to prop up her car after the tires were stolen.
"I walk out and I see these bricks in between my car and my husband's car and I said, 'What are those bricks doing there?' and then I looked and no tires on my car at all," said Wilson.
Being the target of thieves was not only inconvenient for the Wilson family, it is an expense it really didn't need as Wilson received some bad news on Friday about her job.
"One of my co-workers called me and said I'm going be put on four days and have a cut in pay and all that good stuff. So, it's not a good day for me; as you can see I've been crying," said Wilson.
Sterling Heights police are asking people to come forward with information if they know anything about these thefts.
