MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. -- Water service for several Macomb County communities will be disrupted Wednesday night, as crews repair a leaky water main.
The work will begin around 7 p.m. Wednesday, on Dequindre Road, just south of Auburn Road. It is slated to be finished by 7 a.m. Thursday.
Washington Township, Shelby Township, Macomb Township, Chesterfield Township, Harrison Township, Lenox Township, the Village of New Haven, and a portion of Romeo will all have water service affected during the repairs.
Shelby Township has issued a boil water alert, starting 7 p.m. Wednesday and lasting until further notice. Residents should boil any water for food preparation or drinking for at least 5 minutes.
Macomb Township has issued an outdoor water ban during the time of the project.
