2 Inkster police officers hurt as alleged drug deal goes down

Officers released from hospital, no arrests made

INKSTER, Mich. – Two Inkster police officers were hurt late Thursday night when they were hit by a car while doing drug surveillance.

The incident happened near Princeton and John Daly streets.

Police sources told Local 4 detectives were closing watching an area known to be drug-ridden when they saw a man selling drugs out of his car in the middle of the intersection.

When police moved in, the alleged drug dealer moved out - hitting the officers with is car.

A police lieutenant opened fire on the car, but it got away. The car was found near Plum and Meadowdale avenues, but it was empty.

The officers were treated at a hospital, but have been released.
