2 arrested in Ferndale with box of marijuana

Police investigating where box came from after being dropped off by FedEx

FERNDALE, Mich. – Ferndale police are investigating the arrest of two men who were found with 15 pounds of marijuana in a box.

Police said a citizen tipped them off that a FedEx truck had dropped off a suspicious package and that it was picked up a short time later by two men in a car. Police said the tipster told them the same activity had happened several times before.

Police said they pulled over a car on Woodward Avenue and arrested both the driver and the passenger -- Kevin Stolger and Phillip Cooper.

Police said there was marijuana in a cup that was in the car and marijuana hidden in Stolger's clothes.

Once the box was opened, police said it had 15 pounds of marijuana in it.

Police are still investigating where it came from.
