In an interview with Local 4, the mother - who asked not to be identified - said she had just left a dollar store Tuesday afternoon when the carjacking happened.

The mother said she put her 4-year-old son in the car and was about to put some balloons into the car when two men came up to the car.

"I really couldn't see their faces. I just saw the gun. That's all I remember seeing," she said. "He approached the driver's side and that's when he jumped in my car, took the money and told me to give him the keys."

The mother said she panicked when she realized what was happening and only had thing on her mind.

"I was panicking, like I didn't know what to think. I really wasn't thinking. The only thing I was thinking was getting him out of the car," she said.

The video shows the mother quickly pulling her son out of the backseat and running.

She and her son weren't hurt.
