DUNDEE, Mich. – Two people have been arrested after police say they used stolen credit card numbers from people in Michigan and Ohio to make multiple purchases.

Police said customer credit cards were compromised while checking in for a stay at the Holiday Inn Splash Universe at 100 Whitetail Drive in Dundee during the months of November 2013 through March 2014.

The front desk clerk, 20-year-old Alivia Ann Adams, would provide her boyfriend, 31-year-old Jason Lee Beverly, a former employee, with the customer's credit card numbers, police said.

Never having the actual card in his possession, police said Beverly would purchase items online at businesses such as Walmart.com and Sears.com.

The duo also used the compromised numbers to make car payments, get their vehicles services and pay for meals, according to Dundee police. The compromised cards were used at Tiffany's Pizza in Dundee 14 times.

Police said Adams and Beverly would call a business, stating they were unable to come into the establishment but would like to pay for a relative, son or girlfriend as a gift.

Businesses would agree to take the credit card number over the phone. Once the business agreed to the phone transaction, police said the two would come into the store and either pick up the merchandise or obtain the service that was paid for with the stolen credit card number.

Transactions were conducted all over Monroe County and Washtenaw County in Michigan, and Lucas County in Ohio. Police said victims from as far away as Sault Sainte Marie to Columbus, Ohio have been located during the investigation.

Once the hotel was notified, police said they quickly corrected the problem and Adams was immediately terminated.

Warrants were issued by the Monroe County Prosecutor's Office for fraudulent use of a credit card and conspiracy to commit credit card fraud.

Police said Beverly is currently being held on a $10,000 bond in the Monroe County Jail. Sylvania Township, Ohio police have placed a hold on Beverly for felony and misdemeanor fraud charges.

Adam is being held on a $5,000 bond in the Monroe County Jail, police said.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-SPEAK-UP.

If you feel you may be a victim in this fraud, police said to call Officer Tim Ames at the Dundee Police Department at 734-529-3430 or Monroe County Central Dispatch at 734-243-7070.
