STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. -

Two suspects have been arrested on suspicion of armed robbery after stealing a 51-year old Shelby Township man's briefcase in the parking lot of the Lakeside mall in Sterling Heights.

The two suspects, Kory McKenzie and Demonte Pride, both 20-year olds from Roseville, allegedly attacked the victim while he was walking through the parking lot toward the mall.

Pride got out of a silver Chevrolet Trail Blazer and tried to take the victim's briefcase. When the victim struggled with Pride, McKenzie, the driver of the SUV, got out and hit the victim in the head with an unknown object. The suspects then took the briefcase and left.

The victim reported a partial license plate number, which was used to find a possible match to the SUV in Roseville. Pride and McKenzie admitted being involved in the incident to Sterling Heights detectives and Roseville police.

Both suspects were placed under arrest and taken to Sterling Heights Police Department.

The victim was taken to Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, where he was treated and released.
