2 charged in Plymouth Township family murder plot will go to trial in May

Roksana Sikorski, Michael Rivera face premeditated murder charges

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The trial against a 15-year-old Plymouth Township girl and her adult boyfriend for an alleged plot to kill the teen's family is set to begin in May.

Roksana Sikorski and her 23-year-old boyfriend, Michael Rivera, both are charged as adults in this case. They face seven charges including assault with intent to murder and conspiracy to commit premeditated murder.

Prosecutors say Sikorski used a knife to cut her 12-year-old brother's neck and tried to stab her younger sister on Oct. 17 in their Plymouth Township home. According to Sikorski and the prosecution, Rivera was outside the house sending text messages to instruct how to fatally stab the family members.

Judge Michael Gerou bound them both over to trial last week. They were formally arraigned Thursday and their trial date has been scheduled for May 13.

Gerou said evidence shows the cut to the boy's neck could have been fatal.

The boy was treated at a hospital and released. He testified during the hearing last week.

Both Sikorski and Rivera are being held on $1 million bonds.

Sikorski was bound over as an adult despite her counsel's request she be charged as a juvenile.
