DETROIT -

Two people were found dead Monday morning in a home on Detroit's east side.

Police said the victims, a man and a woman, were found in the 4500 block of Cadieux Road with gunshot wounds. Their deaths are being investigated as homicides.

Police said the victims were found by a friend who went over to check on the them after trying to get ahold of them for a couple days. When they did not answer Monday morning, the friend kicked in the door and found the bodies.

The man has been identified as 26-year-old Matthew Cogborn.

"He was good. He was a good kid ever since he was a little guy and it's sad to wake up in the morning and see this happened to your loved one," said Julius Jones, a relative of Cogborn's.

The woman has not been identified.

No arrests have been made.
