2 men accused of stealing from their own neighbors in Pontiac

Devonte Musgraves, Adidas Gamble charged with breaking and entering

PONTIAC, Mich. – Bridgette Haynes takes pride in keeping her Pontiac yard and community clean.

"In the old days, everybody looked out for each other," she said.

But not everyone has the same neighborly love.

Police said 31-year-old Adidas Gamble and 35-year-old Devonte Musgraves targeted their own neighbors on West Iroquois Road.

Early Wednesday morning, Oakland County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call from a neighbor who said there were noises coming from inside a vacant home at 365 West Iroquois Road.

Deputies found copper piping and an air conditioning unit had been ripped from the home and was sitting in blue Chrysler minivan. Two men were seen fleeing from the scene.

A short time later, the men -- Gamble and Musgraves -- were found hiding on a nearby street and were arrested.

They are charged with breaking and entering.

"I think the homes are targeted out of necessity," Haynes said. "People are poor in Pontiac. They take what they can and turn it into cash."
