DETROIT -

Wayne County Sheriff's investigators conducted a raid on a suspected drug house on Detroit's west side Saturday afternoon.  The house is located in the 8000 block of Stout Street.

Two men were arrested following the raid.  Officers confiscated four long guns, including an AK-47.  Two hand guns were also taken from the house.  Cocaine, marijuana and suspected illegal prescription pills were also confiscated from the house.

The raid was performed following an undercover investigation based on tips from the community.  Undercover surveillance was conducted to confirm that suspected narcotics were being trafficked out of the home.

"Dope houses continue to torment our communities and diminish quality of life for hard-working citizens who just want peace and to live in a safe neighborhood," said Sheriff Napoleon. "It couldn't have happened without the help of concerned citizens who cared enough to step up. We'll continue putting dents in these operations to drive home the message that dope houses won't be tolerated."

Individuals who want to report drug activity or blind pigs operating in their Wayne County community can call the Wayne County Sheriff's Office tip line at (313) 833-3190.  The call is anonymous.
