Macomb County Sheriff: Baby boy found safe, but mom is still missing

Carol Maxwell last seen in Harrison Township

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The Macomb County Sheriff's Office said a 2-month-old boy who was missing with his non-custodial mother has been found safe, but the mother is still unaccounted for. 

Police said Carol Maxwell, 30, of Eastpointe, and Terrance Maxwell were last seen Monday at the child's Harrison Township home. Police believed the two were together. Terrance was turned over to a family friend at the Clinton Township Police Department, but Carol Maxwell's whereabouts are still unknown.

Child Protective Services has been notified, the Sheriff's Office said. 

Maxwell doesn't have custody of Terrance, but does have supervised visitation. The Macomb County Sheriff's Office currently holds a kidnapping custodial interference felony arrest warrant against Maxwell.

Police said Maxwell doesn't have a car and her cellphone isn't working. She has no known medical issues.

She is described as 5 feet 1 inch tall weighing 160 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
