Fakhouri, who served as assistant executive and was Ficano's top fundraiser, cited health reasons for stepping down.

As the chief in fundraising for Ficano, Fakhouri was named in a lawsuit filed earlier this week by a former county appointee who claimed being pressured to take part in political activities.

Dave Edwards was recently given a promotion in county government to become deputy director of information services.

That department was shaken earlier in the year when then-director Tahir Kazmi resigned after being hit with federal corruption charges.  Kazmi is accused of shaking down a county contractor.

Edwards cited personal reasons for resigning from his county post.
