2 security guards shot in drive-by after patron removed from bar

Police searching for gunman

DETROIT – Police are searching for a gunman after a drive-by shooting that injured two security guards Friday night at a bar on Detroit’s west side, according to police.

The shooting happened outside of Hazel’s Place Lounge at about 9 p.m.

Security guards escorted a man out of the bar for being overly intoxicated.

Shortly after, shots were fired at the security guards from a dark-colored Chevy Malibu.

One security guard was hit in the hand and the other was hit in the forearm. Both are in stable condition.

Police are unsure if the man who was kicked out of the bar is also the shooter.

The gunman was described as a black man in his 50s.
