2 sought after man shot at Inkster gas station, Michigan State Police say

Gunman shot victim who attempted to run away to prevent being robbed

INKSTER, Mich. – Michigan State Police are investigating after a man was shot Friday afternoon at a gas station in Inkster.

It happened at 4:45 p.m. Friday at the Marathon gas station at the intersection of Avondale and Inkster Road.

Two men entered the gas station and then followed the victim out into the parking lot.

Police said one of the men took out a black semi-automatic pistol and attempted to rob the victim.

The victim attempted to run from the men and was shot one time in the leg, according to MSP. The two robbers then ran from the scene.

Police said the victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The robbers are described by MSP as two 20-year-old black men who are about 5 feet 8 inches tall. Police said the men who had the handgun has a jersey-style jacket with brown sleeves and wears his hair in a ponytail. The second man wore a black hoodie.

MSP believe the robbers live in the neighborhood.
