2 women assaulted during home invasion on Detroit's west side

DETROIT – Police are investigating a home invasion Tuesday morning in which a man armed with a knife assaulted  two women on Detroit’s west side.

It happened at about 2:50 a.m. in the 13000 block of Castleton Street.

According to police, a man armed with a knife entered the home through a first-floor window. A 40-year-old woman came downstairs after she heard noises and the intruder assaulted her. Police also said a 43-year-old woman was sexually assaulted.

It appears the intruder didn’t take anything from the home.

Detroit police are investigating.
