DETROIT – Sunday morning 2-year-old Damian Sutton was rushed into emergency surgery to remove part of his skull due to the swelling in his brain.
According to the family's Facebook page, Damian came out of surgery sometime before noon.
His condition deteriorated overnight prompting the surgery. The updated social media post says the boy did well through surgery and is now back in intensive care.
The family says it will take a few days to know if the surgery worked to reduce the swelling.

Little Damian has been in a medically induced coma since he was found unresponsive Wednesday in a Washington Township home.
The boyfriend of Sutton's mother was caring for the toddler at the time.
Wickersham said Dimambro later admitted he had shaken the child.

Sutton was first rushed to McLaren Macomb Hospital and then transferred to Children's Hospital because of the seriousness of his head injuries.
Dimambro was arrested and arraigned Friday on a charge of first-degree child abuse. He has a prior criminal history that includes domestic violence and impaired driving.
The mother of the boy, Nicole Sutton, said she is keeping a round-the-clock vigil at Children's Hospital and welcomes any and all prayers for her boy.
Dimambro is being held on a $500,000 bond and faces up to life in prison if convicted.
Fundraiser for Sutton:
A second fundraiser is planned Tuesday to help raise funds for the family of Sutton at Younger's Irish Tavern in Downtown Romeo.
Food and beverages will be donated by the tavern and all monetary funds collected will go to the family to help with expenses.
Younger's Irish Tavern is located on Main Street.
