FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- An Ann Arbor resident died Saturday after Michigan State Police said three cars collided with one another on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 696 near Inkster Road in Farmington Hills.
MSP said 38-year-old Lingjie Mark was pronounced dead at the scene. MSP said it appears Lingjie was not wearing a seat belt.
The crash happened just after 5 p.m., scattering debris over all four lanes of the freeway. Traffic was backed up until 1 a.m., when the freeway reopened.
MSP said alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
Any witnesses to the crash are asked to contact the Michigan State Police’s Metro North station in Oak Park at 248-584-5757.
