The 2015 "Call of Duty" championship is raising the stakes this spring.

Activision and Major League Gaming will be offering $1 million in prize money for successfully beating 31 other teams from 5 continents.

The preliminary rounds kick off next week on January 17th and will be taking qualifying players from Brazil, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

The final competition will be held March 27-29 in Los Angeles.

The initial matches will be held online through Xbox One, and the final match will broadcast live.

The "Call of Duty" championship is open to all qualified players who meet the requirements of the official rules and regulations.
