DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. -- The Dearborn Heights police are looking for a man who beat and attempted to rape a 21-year-old woman as she walked across Telegraph Road last week.
The victim told police she was walking across Telegraph Road and Befan Street and was on her way home from a 24-hour Walgreens around 3 a.m. last Wednesday when a man came up from behind her.
She said the man grabbed her, put his hand over her mouth and told her to shut up or he would kill her.
The attacker dragged her about 20 feet to some trees and brush and threw her to the ground and got on top of her, said police.
"Somehow in a couple seconds I made it from the sidewalk to the fence, so I'm pretty sure I got thrown," said the victim who did not want her face shown on TV.

Woman Attacked By Would-Be Rapist Speaks Out The man continued to repeat that he would kill her if she screamed as he attempted to unbutton her jeans, police said.
"I curled up in a fetal position because that way I could have the most control over my own body. That way I could scream as loudly and as long as I needed to," said the victim.
During the struggle, the woman began screaming and then the man began repeatedly punching her in the face, police said.
"I started screaming very loudly, and he started punching me, and I guess because I wouldn't stop screaming, he ran away," she said.
The woman ran home and was transported to Heritage Hospital by a family member.
She suffered a broken jaw, a sunken eye socket and got stitches in her check.
A composite sketch of the attacker was drawn.
"I got a couple seconds to look at his face…I might have gotten lucky, he might get caught," said the victim.
The woman described her attacker as a very dark skinned black man, with a chubby face, possibly in his late teens, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, and weighing 170 pounds.
He had on a white T-shirt, dark-colored jeans and a baseball hat with a logo on it.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Dearborn Heights Police Department.
