AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Police in Auburn Hills are investigating the death of a pedestrian that closed a portion of M-59 for five hours.
It happened Friday at 11:43 p.m. between Interstate 75 and Squirrel Road.
Police say the driver of a 2003 Buick Century, traveling eastbound on M-59, hit a man in the road. The man’s body was subsequently hit by several other vehicles.
The driver of the Buick is a 32-year-old Rochester Hills resident. At this time, police said neither excessive speed, alcohol nor drugs — as it relates to the driver — appear to be a factor but the investigation continues.
The identity of the pedestrian has not yet been confirmed. Anyone who may have been traveling M-59 near I-75 at the time of the crash is asked to call Auburn Hills police if they witnessed the accident. They can be reached at 248-370-9444.
