DETROIT -- A 15-year-old Cooley High School student has been charged after the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said he created a hit list of school staff members he wanted to kill.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said the list was found Tuesday.
The teen is charged with creating a disturbance in a school.
"We are thankful that a student brought this information promptly to the attention of the authorities and that swift action was taken by DPS Public Safety Officers," Worthy said in a statement about the incident.
The teen's father, who lives out of state, was at a court hearing Wednesday. The teen had been living with his grandmother but the father requested that he be released to him.
The judge denied the request and the teen remains a ward of the court.
