OXFORD, Mich. -- An Oxford swim coach is accused of sending sexually explicit texts to two girls on his swim team.
Brandon Figurski, 20, of Lake Orion started in August as a volunteer assistant coach.
Police said Figurski's texts repeatedly asked the students to send him explicit pictures of themselves and discussed having both girls engage in sex acts.
One of the girl's parents discovered the text messages and turned the phone over to the police. Oakland County Sheriff's deputies continued to pose as the teens and set up a meeting with Figurski for Aug. 31. When he arrived he was confronted and arrested.
"He's there to look after our kids, so I am sort of surprised," said one Lake Orion High School parent.
He is facing three felony charges, including child sexually abusive activity, using a computer to commit a crime and communicating with another to commit a crime.
Both girls were 15 years old.
Superintendent Nancy Kramer said Figurski only held about six sessions and was never alone with any of the students.
Figurski has been banned on the grounds and cannot have any contact with the students.
Figurski graduated from Lake Orion High School in 2007.
He does not have a criminal record.
"We do a lot of precautions when we bring anyone in because our concern is the safety of the students. We did a criminal record check and had no findings," said Kramer.
