Man Dies In Industrial Accident

Incident Remains Under Investigation

A Redford Township man died after an accident at Voigt and Schweitzer Galvinizers Incorporated.

Darryl Johnson was a temporary worker at the company located in the 12000 block of Arnold Street for the past three weeks.

The 41-year-old was working with steel beams when one of the beams fell on top of him, according to his family.

"Anytime anyone needed something done, he was there. Everybody that knew him, loved him. He got a lot of people that loved him," said his mother, Dorothy Johnson.

Johnson is the youngest of seven children. He leaves behind a wife and two sons.

The company is not releasing any information but is investigating.
