WASHINGTON -- Relief is coming for unemployed people whose benefits were set to run out soon.
The White House says President Barack Obama will sign a $24 billion economic package Friday which extends employment benefits for up to 20 weeks.
The bill also extends an $8,000 tax credit for first-time home buyers for seven months.
Some home buyers who already own houses will be eligible for a $6,500 credit.
