GREEN OAK TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- A 69-year-old Green Oak Township man has pleaded not guilty to charges related to the shooting and wounding of a teenager last November.
Robert Lupo was arraigned Wednesday on charges of careless discharge of a firearm causing injury.
Lupo allegedly responded by firing a pellet gun after four teenagers rang his doorbell and ran off. One of the teens was hit in the back and needed treatment at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor. He has since been released.
Lupo was released on bond but ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim. He also had to surrender his firearms.
Lupo is due back in district court in Howell next Wednesday for an examination hearing.
Green Oak Township is in Livingston County about 35 miles northwest of Detroit.
