DETROIT -- Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said Tuesday she wants parents to be aware of the video games their children could be playing.
Referencing national studies, Worthy said there are connections between perceived violence in the media and aggressive behavior in children.
"Personally, I don't understand why anyone wants to play violent games, but I respect the right of adults to play them. No child under the age of 18 should be playing these games and young adults should proceed cautiously," Worthy said in a statement. "Parents I urge you not to buy these games or allow your children to play them. By all means take inventory of the games that are already in your home."
Worthy listed eight video games she said parents should be concerned about.
Manhunt
Resident Evil 5
Left 4 Dead 2
God of War 3
Gran Theft Auto
Madworld
Gears of War
Mortal Combat -- Deception
