WATERFORD, Mich. -- A Pontiac couple accused of killing a loss prevention officer at a Kmart store in Waterford were bound over for trial Wednesday.
Codefendants James Woodworth, 39 and Samantha Lomasney, 20, of Pontiac each face one count of unarmed robbery and one count of homicide in the Jan. 14 dragging death of Greg Wainio.
Prosecutors said Wainio, 36, suspected the two of shoplifting from the store and when he ran out after them, Lomasney fatally struck him with an SUV.
The Waterford Kmart store manager took the stand Wednesday and described how the speeding SUV slammed Wainio into two pillars before speeding off.
The manager said she saw her employee being dragged for about 145 feet before he was dislodged from the vehicle and then came to a rest on the curb.
Police said a plainclothes officer witnessed the hit-and-run and followed the SUV to a house in Pontiac where they called police.
