BIRMINGHAM, Mich. -- The Birmingham School District has sent home a letter notifying parents of a report of an indecent exposure to a high school student.
Watch:
Teen: Man With Toddler In Car Flashes HimselfThe high school girl told police that the incident happened at about 3 p.m. Wednesday when she was jogging in the area of Lincoln Street and Glenhurst Drive.
The girl said that as she was passing a gold minivan parked in a driveway on Lincoln Street, the man in the driver's seat asked her to approach the vehicle, police said.
When the girl got closer, she noticed the man was exposing himself. She said she also saw young toddler, between 3 and 4 years old, sleeping in the backseat of the vehicle.
The teen described the man as middle aged, possibly of Middle Eastern descent, with black and gray hair and a bald spot on the top of his head.
Residents in the area said this isn't the first time this type of incident has occurred in their neighborhood.
"It's just frightening. It's the third, I think, incident in this neighborhood in the last few weeks," said neighborhood parent Linda McDonnel.
"I've lived here 26 years at this corner and it's very concerning," added neighbor Debra Myer. "I've raised my children but I'm very concerned about the other children who live in this neighborhood."
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Birmingham Police Department at 248-644-3400.
