HAMTRAMCK, Mich. -- Hamtramck police said they're looking for a group of teenagers believed to be responsible for at least three recent beatings in the city.
Watch:
Police Arrest 1 In Connection With BeatingsPolice said the teens, between the ages of 15 and 18, have been targeting people who are walking alone.
The first attack occurred outside a Hungry Howie's pizza store in the 11000 block of Joseph Campau Street last Thursday. A second attack was reported at Casmere and MacKay streets, and a third incident happened near Joseph Campau Street and Holbrook Street.
A man, who asked only to be identified as Ahmed, said as many as 10 teenagers came out of nowhere and knocked him to the ground outside Hungry Howie's.
"The next thing I was in the street, and they kept kicking me, punching me," he said. "I was on the ground and all I could do was cover my head."
Ahmed said he was hit multiple times on his head, back and legs.
Police said an area high school student was also a victim, and needed six stitches to close a gash on his face. The third victim, police said, was a young man who also had to be treated at an area hospital after being stomped on and punched.
Ahmed said his bruises and cuts are starting to heal, but he's struggling with emotional wounds.
Ahmed said he did nothing to provoke the attack and said he hopes someone will come forward before more victims are made.
"Watch your back, because it could happen to anyone," he said.
Police said they have arrested one person but are still looking for others involved in the beatings. Police said only one of the victims was robbed, so they're not sure what the motive for the attacks are.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Hamtramck Police Department.
