Dearborn Heights police are searching for a man who has apparently been exposing and fondling himself in front of women at a local library.
Police said the man exposed himself at least twice inside and outside the John F. Kennedy Jr. Library on Van Born Road in Dearborn Heights.
"He does make sexual comments towards them and then tends to show them … his private areas," said Dearborn Heights police Detective Mike Petri.
Police said the suspect appears to be targeting women 50 and older, making comments about their legs, and asking to put his mouth on their feet.
Some regular patrons of the library told Local 4 that they've seen the man at the library on occasion.
"We see a man here that looks homeless … he seemed harmless, but he obviously has a problem," said Ellen Niemann, a nearby resident.
Witnesses described the flasher as a white man in his 30s or 40s, with a thin build and sandy brown hair. He's usually seen riding a bike, according to police.
Police have asked anyone who has been approached by the man to contact the Dearborn Heights Police Department at (313) 277-6770.
