A fund has been established to help pay for the funeral expenses of three children that were shot and killed in a Detroit home on Tuesday night.
The children were reportedly found shot in the basement of a burning home on Detroit's northwest side.
The victims included three girls and a boy. Lamar Bailey, 1, Ayana Bailey, 3, and Shanice Bailey, 11, were killed in the fire. The fourth child, 9-year-old Antonia Bailey, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but is expected to recover.
Contributions to the Bailey Children's Fund will help pay for Antonia's medical expenses, Local 4 reported.
The children's father, Anthony Lamar Bailey, 37, was charged Thursday with three counts of first-degree murder and other related offenses.
Police said they looked at Bailey as a suspect because of what 9-year-old Antonia Bailey said as paramedics saved her from her burning home on Ashton Street: "My daddy killed me. My daddy killed my whole family."
Bailey is accused of shooting his four children at close range with a 12-gauge shotgun, and then setting the house on fire to cover the shootings.
Police said Bailey was found walking along Interstate 96 on Detroit's west side around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Family members of Bailey say he had been despondent over his pending divorce. He reportedly bought a shotgun and started to threaten his family and abuse his estranged wife, Essie Bailey, according to Local 4 reports.
Officers answered calls to the house at least twice this year to investigate reports of domestic violence, Local 4 reported.
Police also said Anthony Bailey talked with his estranged wife before the shooting and told her to watch the late news.
Neighbors said they hadn't seen the mother in about a month. She arrived at the scene
Tuesday night and was at the hospital with her surviving daughter, Local 4 reported.
Police continue to investigate Bailey's possible motive in the shooting. Bailey and his wife reportedly had filed personal protection orders against each other.
Bailey's next court appearance is a preliminary hearing set for September 3.
