$250,000 lottery ticket sold in Detroit goes unclaimed

Deadline passed without winner coming forward, money will go to Michigan's school fund

DETROIT – Someone will be very disappointed. 

The person who purchased a $250,000 lottery ticket has missed out on the chance to claim the prize.

No one claimed the Mega Millions prize by Thursday's deadline. The ticket matching five of the six numbers was sold one year ago at Walter's Pipe Shop on West Lafayette Boulevard in Detroit.

The unclaimed cash will now be deposited into the state of Michigan's school aid fund.
