BALTIMORE -- No, it's not the other dark meat. Baltimore health officials say a patron of a Popeye's restaurant bit into a mouse that had been fried along with the chicken.
Tony Hill, of Baltimore, says he was eating the second piece of his three-piece meal when he made the unappetizing discovery. He filed a complaint with the health department.Baltimore City Health Commissioner Dr. Peter Beilenson told WBAL-TV in Baltimore that the restaurant has been closed twice before in the past two years for mouse infestation and unsanitary conditions. He said that his office is investigating."It appears to be a legitimate complaint ... but we found no evidence of mouse infestation," Beilenson said.Health inspectors examined the restaurant Thursday morning, and Beilenson said they may soon return.
