DETROIT -- A suspected robber was killed after reportedly trying to break into a home on Detroit's east side Wednesday morning.
The owner of the home located in the 3700 block of St. Clair Street allegedly shot the suspected robber, Local 4 learned.
The suspected robber ran out of the home, across neighboring lawns and tried to hide between two cars, the station reported. The homeowner went up to the man and shot him in the face, Local 4 reported.
The suspected robber was taken to a hospital, but was pronounced dead.
The homeowner was taken into police custody for questioning. Prosecutors will determine if charges will be filed.
The homeowner said three men tried to break into his house, and two other men were seen running down the street, according to witnesses.
The homeowner said someone tried to break into his house last week, too, according to neighbor Bertha Lindsey.
Police continue to investigate.
