3 Detroit Public Schools closed to students on Thursday
School officials: Mechanical problems to blame

Three Detroit Public Schools will be closed for students on Thursday, Jan. 24th.
School officials say mechanical problems are to blame for the closers.
Schools effected:
- Emerson Elementary
- Golightly Education Center
- Palmer Park Preparatory Academy
- Westside Academy Alternative Education
All school-based instructional staff members are asked to report to work unless notified by the district.
DPS officials say the buildings have sufficient heat for staff activities.
