3 charged in jewelry heist from Grosse Pointe home

Trio accused of stealing jewelry valued at $1 million during break-in over Labor Day weekend

DETROIT – Three people have been charged in what police are calling a million-dollar heist from a Grosse Pointe home.

Matthew Sedgeman, Joshua Sedgeman and Alaina Robinson are accused of breaking into a home on Lincoln Street over Labor Day weekend and stealing dozens of pieces of jewelry - valued at $1 million.

The suspects were tracked down after the jewelry started showing up at area pawn shops.

Matthew Sedgeman, 19, is charged with second-degree home invasion and larceny.

Joshua Sedgeman,20, and Robinson, 25, is charged with receiving and concealing stolen property
