Medical examiner uses dental records to identify victims

DETROIT – Three of the four people who were killed in a crash last week on I-96 in Detroit have been identified.

The Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office said the 33-year-old Jermere Howard, 31-year-old Kristen Johnson and 33-year-old Bryant Woods had to be identified through dental records because they were burned beyond recognition.

The identity of the fourth victim, a man, is still pending.

The sedan that was carrying the four victims hit the base of a bridge in the eastbound lanes near Wyoming Avenue late Tuesday night. It then burst into flames.

Police have not said what caused the car to crash.
