A deputy and his wife were charged Friday after they allegedly lied about who was driving when they crashed his vehicle, Local 4 reported.
St. Clair County Sheriff's Deputy Mike Bailey was arraigned Friday on charges of drunken driving in a rollover crash that occurred on March 27 in Port Huron.

Bailey, 40, and his wife, Dorothy, who was also in the car, told police at the scene that she was the driver in the crash, according to reports. But police said lipstick and other makeup marks found on the passenger-side air bag of Bailey's Ford Mustang proved that he was the driver, and not his wife.
"We did find what appeared to be female makeup on the passenger-side air bag," said Neal Rossow, of the Port Huron Police Department.
Dorothy Bailey, 33, was charged Friday at St. Clair District Court with obstruction of justice.
Police told the
Port Huron Times-Herald that Bailey was driving the Mustang -- which is leased by the county sheriff's department -- when he lost control and flipped the vehicle near Military and Oak streets around midnight.
The crash apparently happened after the couple had been drinking, first at a fund-raiser, then at a tavern, according to police.
Dorothy Bailey (pictured, right) -- who was initially believed to be the driver -- was forced to take a Breathalyzer test and was arrested.

Port Huron police questioned her husband a few days later. According to a police report, the revelation of the makeup discovery shook the deputy. He apparently apologized, saying, "OK. Forget everything I said before, I was driving."
Bailey told police he lied because he was worried about losing his job and being able to support his family, Local 4 reported.
Local 4 learned that Bailey was permitted to drive the Mustang while off-duty. He's reportedly been on paid medical leave for injuries he suffered in the crash, but now that charges have been filed against him, he'll likely be disciplined by the department, the station reported.
Bailey is a 15-year veteran of the department. Because he is an undercover officer, his mug shot was not released following his arraignment.
