A former police officer reportedly turned the tables on a group of men who tried to carjack him Sunday morning.
Five men tried to steal the victim's truck from a construction site at Vernor and Cabot in southwest Detroit around 5 a.m., according to police. The victim, who was working as a security guard, is reportedly a former Troy police officer.The security guard fired shots at the group of men, hitting two of them, police said. They were both taken to a hospital where one was listed in critical condition.The three other men were arrested.The security guard was not hurt. His name was not released.
